The Saas Valley

Majestic four-thousand-meter peaks, glaciers almost close enough to touch, a deep-blue sky: that’s the Saas Valley. Discover the unique mountain environment, a source of fascination - in summer as in winter. The four villages in the Saas Valley offer a variety of visitor activities throughout the year. Welcome!

Saas-Fee

Saas-Fee lies in a heavenly valley surrounded by the highest mountains in the Swiss Alps. No less than 13 four-thousand-metre peaks encircle the glacier village like a shell, giving rise to its memorable name "the Pearl of the Alps". Allow yourself to fall under its spell and enjoy your holiday in the alpine air which remains fresh and clean thanks to the absence of cars.

Saas-Grund

Saas-Grund is the village at the heart of the Saas Valley with a host of things to do and see. This makes it the perfect base from which to tackle the legendary high-altitude Saas trails. From Hohsaas (3,100 m) you can take in a breathtaking view of all 18 surrounding four-thousand-metre mountains – an incomparable highlight.

Saas-Almagell

The home of Olympic champion Pirmin Zurbriggen is the most southerly settlement in the Saas Valley. The Mattmark natural dam is a top-class tourist attraction. As a friendly, family-oriented village, Saas-Almagell has retained its typical Valais mountain village character to the present day.

Saas-Balen

A haven of rest and relaxation. Heimischgartu (2100 m) and the milky GrĂĽebesee lake are home to an enormous diversity of alpine flowers. Particular attractions are the late-baroque round church, a building of national importance, and the roaring Fellbach running through the middle of the village.
