Climbing

A via ferrata is a climbing route secured throughout with wire cables and where necessary with ladders. Experienced mountain hikers with a good head for heights will find it an intermediate stage between hiking in the mountains and rock climbing. Diverse vie ferrate in the area promise plenty of fun and adventure.

Mittaghorn via ferrata

The start is easily accessible from Morenia (Alpin-Express). On the climb you get to enjoy the fantastic view and the Mittaghorn summit experience. A via ferrata for connoisseurs of all ages.

Jägihorn via ferrata

The panorama via ferrata on the Jägihorn offers unalloyed climbing fun. 5 ladders, 400 pitons, steps, holds, 1000 m of steel rope, extensive views crowned by the Saas four-thousand metre peaks.

Rock climbing fun: climbing and abseiling on the Saas-Grund mini via ferrata

Near the Hohsaas cableway is a mini via ferrata. Access is possible with a ladder which can be obtained from the Saas-Grund mountain guide office on payment of a charge. The via ferrata offers a perfect opportunity to gain an insight into climbing techniques.

Del Lago via ferrata

This via ferrata runs from the Almagell Valley to the Antrona Valley in Italy. It owes its name “Via Ferrate del Lago” to the fact that in clear weather the view extends all the way to Lake (Lake) Maggiore. It is open from early July to the end of September and should ideally be tackled as a 2-day tour.

Furggstalden climbing crag

Newly refurbished children's and beginners climbing crag in not too challenging terrain. A gentle introduction to climbing and abseiling. A climbing guide is available from the Saas-Almagell tourist office or from the mountaineering schools.

Gorge Alpine

A breathtaking route from Saas-Fee to Saas-Grund: a series of fixed steel ropes, ladders, tyrolienne traverses, suspended bridges and swings takes you through the Fee Gorge into the valley, in the company of a mountain guide.

Saas Fee Adventure Forest

Experience nature in a new, nerve-tingling way! Work your way from tree to tree, overcoming various obstacles on the way: suspended bridges, tyrolienne traverses, suspended ropes etc. Two spectacular tyrolienne traverses over the Fee Gorge are the highlight of the Adventure Forest.
